If you only print small parts of your plastic card, we recommend a so-called half-panel ribbon. The bands, also known as half-panel ribbons, are significantly smaller in size, so less material is printed per card, resulting in significantly lower printing costs per card. Mainly the half-zone color tapes are used for photo personalization. Half of a panel is divided into the color components YMC. The transfer black (K) and the overlay (O) are defined in a whole panel and can be printed on the entire card width.
YMCKO ribbons are color ribbons in which the color components yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), black (K) and the overlay (O) are strung together. The overlay is used to coat the plastic card, protecting it from damage, scratching and fading.
The full spectrum of colors is printed on the card by means of thermal sublimation from the stacked three colors. The black zone (K) is intended for the defined printing of texts or barcodes by means of transfer printing.
Multi-colored graphics, logos, photos and texts can be printed on plastic cards using this printing technique.
