If you only print small parts of your plastic card, we recommend a so-called half-zone ribbon. The individual color zones of these half-panel-ribbons are significantly smaller (you can only print half side of a card), so that less material per card is printed, resulting in significantly lower printing costs per card. Mainly the half-zone color ribbons are used for photo personalization. The transfer black (K) and the overlay (O) can be printed on the entire card width.

YMCKOK ribbons (with overlay and extra black)
The YMCKOK ribbon is for full-color front printing (YMCK) and monochrome black printing on the back. On the ribbon, the color components yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), black (K), overlay (O) and the back side black (K) are strung together. With the second black zone, the back of the plastic card can be personalized. The overlay coating protects the plastic card from damage, scratching and fading.
The full spectrum of colors is printed on the card by means of thermal sublimation from the stacked three colors. The black zones (K) are intended for the defined printing of texts or barcodes by means of transfer printing.
Multi-colored graphics, logos, photos and texts can be printed on the front of the plastic cards with this printing technique. The second black allows only text or barcodes to be printed on the back of the card.
