Entrust Sigma DS3 Simplex Card Printer

The Entrust Sigma DS3 Simplex is a modern, intuitive card printer for issuing secure credentials. The new Sigma card printer series from Entrust represents the next generation of dye-sublimation printing and was specially developed for today's cloud environments. They can issue physical ID cards and digital mobile flash passports, among others. You have the choice between on-premises or cloud-based deployment.

With the card printer, you can print your ID cards on one side in color and monochrome. The Sigma DS3 has a thermal rewrite function that allows multiple printing of rewritable cards.

In addition, the DS3, as the largest model in the Sigma series, can be equipped with an optional laminator.

Focus on security features

Entrust positions itself in the market with a very strong focus on security features. The Entrust Sigma DS3 is equipped with a special boot function that protects the system from malware or viruses when booting up.

In addition, the so-called Trusted Platform Module (TPM) enables the management of the printer's own TLS/SSL certificates and keys. Both the connection and the data transmitted between the software and the printer are encrypted. Customer data is encrypted and is not stored on the printer after printing. Glossy printing and other security features on ID cards prevent manipulation and forgery.

Special ribbon for cost-effective hologram effects

Another feature that significantly contributes to the security of the ID cards produced is the use of a special glossy ribbon that Entrust designed explicitly for the Sigma family. With the special fluorescent printing tape you can add additional security effects to your cards in the form of a watermark. A special ribbon panel creates a color-changing, translucent effect that is also visible under UV light. This allows you to achieve a security effect that would only be possible with other printers through the cost-intensive application of a hologram in combination with a separate laminator.
The Sigma DS3 ID card printer is equipped with a USB and Ethernet interface as standard. On top of that, it can be equipped with a WiFi module and enables printing via mobile devices (Windows, iOS and Android).

The innovative, patented printhead protector function protects it when changing the ribbon or printing the printer, thereby extending the life of the printhead. A variable LED light ring on the housing allows you to customize the design of the printer and choose your desired color.
