YMCKI Ribbons
YMCKI ribbons are ribbons for full-color printing in which the color components yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C) and black (K) are strung together. An additional zone (I) inhibits the printing on defined areas, such as writing fields, so that they are not covered during the application of a color film in the retransfer printing process.
The full spectrum of colors is printed on the card by means of thermal sublimation from the stacked three colors. The black zone (K) is intended for the defined printing of texts or barcodes by means of transfer printing.
Multi-colored graphics, logos, photos and texts can be printed on plastic cards using this printing technique.
