YMCFKO ribbons are color ribbons in which the color components yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), black (K), an overlay (O) and a film with fluorescent components (F) are strung together. The additional printing of fluorescent graphics components is a security feature and serves to protect counterfeit documents from identity documents.
The overlay is used to coat the plastic card, protecting it from damage, scratching and fading.
