The YMCKOK ribbon is for full-color front printing (YMCK) and monochrome black printing on the back.
On the ribbon, the color components yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), black (K), overlay (O) and the back side black (K) are strung together. With the second black zone, the back of the plastic card can be personalized.
The overlay is used to coat the plastic card, protecting it from damage, scratching and fading. The full spectrum of colors is printed on the card by means of thermal sublimation from the stacked three colors. The black zones (K) are intended for the defined printing of texts or barcodes by means of transfer printing.
Multi-colored graphics, logos, photos and texts can be printed on the front of the plastic cards with this printing technique. The second black allows only text or barcodes to be printed on the back of the card.
